Another 3 months ...

.. then it is time for us again from the plane.

But that also means that the planning begins so slowly but surely.

Route planning. Visas. What we take time with our backpack? . What changes / improvements from the last trip we have taken for ourselves?

Our travel date falls this time in the rainy season (May - Oct) and we may have to also remember to bring something different clothes ... or at least: we need something in addition? Rain Cape? At night it is cooler? Is it good to make a trekking tour or rather not (for which I have now read even different opinions)? Questions, questions come up again. But that makes every trip a little too private, too. Anticipation. Tarpaulins. Pack up and away. Away for about 7 weeks. As always, it seems as if it were a long time - but it's still good to have in mind, these go fast - too fast for the traveler - to.

We also want to visit this time not only Thailand (more to the south), but also of another European country. Our choice has been dropped on Cambodia. There currently prevailing unrest but also and you can not be sure what it looks like there in a few months. We are hoping only the best (for our trip planning). But I play in person anyway with the idea after studying a world tour to make - that is buzzing around in my head and still other plans (these are but so far only daydreams and wish list items) ... I so wanted to say but really, I 'm so fixated on not only Cambodia.

Based on these re-emerging planning phase, and thoughts and anticipation that Martin and I cherish, I asked our Backpackingblog again something brought up to scratch (or am just here. These include include updated packaging lists (including a little special for the female backpacker) / / But this comes later an extra entry) ... but these are still in progress).

LED Lenser P5R

[ Trigami-Review ]

Today we would like for you to start with a production test =)

So, now, however, to test our product. It is small and compact LED Lenser P5R. The lamp is super bright light and total
This makes them the perfect lamp for us to take her on long trips =)

Multi-functional charging system Floating Charge System

With this system you can recharge the P5R without much effort. In the case back is a cool mount for wall or cabinet with it. There, the P5R simply hung on the USB charger that clings to the device by simply magnetic. Thus, wear and tear on plugs no longer possible.

Smart Light Technology

Like the M7R has P5R different lighting programs. There are not nearly as many as in the large. But for the size and the use made of this completely rich. First you have the normal light program that manages to illuminate at least 190 meters. That's quite a reach. Second, you can also put in the somewhat darker P5R program. Not always need the full luminosity. And the third one has the M7R as the "Strobe" program you can use in an emergency situation. "Strobes" are the way "high-frequency light pulses," which are very uncomfortable for the eyes.

Speed Focus ( Advance Focus System )

The Speed Focus System makes a one-hand operation fast and easy for us and is also a really exciting feature!

Protection LED (LED Smart Protection)

This function automatically switches the brightness after a few minutes down. Thus, the LED from overheating and thus holds much longer. If you still need the full luminosity. Easy Off and on again!

All in all, to explain a great light with many features which would go beyond the scope here. Of us a strong buy recommendation for a good piece!

Of course, also has two brothers for the lamp set up a Facebook presence, since no company today manages more without social media.

We also have the task of getting the 2.Lampe to give away to someone. Who do we choose for this we do not yet know but stay tuned!

Aftermath

Yes, the last days of Thailand still missing: (should be rescheduled once.

But now - nearly three months later - we still feel wanderlust. And in my case, even quite vigorously. They already thought that one in bad weather again pulls into the distance. Wrong! Levels where it is warm here now comes with me to correct wanderlust.

Thai food so we missed from the beginning, but I just miss Thailand. I miss pad Thai. I miss the delicious Chicken baguettes. I miss the delicious (and not available in our models) crepes. I miss the sea. I miss Koh Tao. I miss diving. I miss the friendly and simple people.

I would be glad to explore what is new, but it's still so much of Thailand, which we have not seen ...

Eyewitness Travel Guide Thailand

For those undecided, we would like to recommend a particularly good guide, we took on our trip more than useful.

The Eyewitness Travel Guide Thailand was our loyal companion and has always led us to a good hostel (if not more times Travelerempfehlungen further helped). Also here you will find many useful information about prices, customs, religion, etc.
A special highlight for us was the time table of train departure times in the Appendix, we have mainly used the car as your means =)

Here you find the handbook at Amazon for € 26.95 which is definitely worth it and we believe are better spent than, say, one in Lonely Planet (we have also, however, we found less useful, because much information is outdated)

Thailand - An overview of costs

Here we want to give you a rough overview of the costs, which come into Thailand to you and save money as you can! This is a very long post, which is worth it!

For an overview: 1 € = 43 Baht

Overnight:
Here there is everything from a simple room with fan to luxury bungalow with air conditioning. Here is a brief overview of prices. Basically you would in any place with a bit looking for a cheap hostel. Cheap hostel there is a simple room with bed and bath if you're lucky even to have the room. Most rooms at affordable price range, however, have shared Bathroom which is not really a problem NEN.

  • Double room with fan: 200 Baht ¬ † (north) to 450 baht (The islands)
  • Double rooms with air-conditioning of 400 baht (the north) to 1000 baht (The islands)

Food and drink:
If there is one country where one can eat well and cheaply, then it is definitely Thailand. We have always though it was possible to eat in kitchens because the food here is extremely cheap and also still very tasty. A big extra here is still that one usually only eat with the locals and get a completely different impression of Thailand and its culture.

  • Fried Rice w / Chicken, food stall: 20-35 baht
  • Fried Rice w / Chicken Restaurant: 80-100 baht
  • Pad Thai w / Chicken, food stall: 30-45 baht
  • Pad Thai w / Chicken Restaurant: 80-120 baht
  • Large Chang beer: 80-120 baht
  • Heineken: from 100 Baht
  • Cola: 20 baht

Transportation:
Transport in Thailand is a really good issue (like almost everything). The main motto is bescheissen but not to get, especially since tuk tuk driver in Bangkok makes a lot of money with the tourists pay it all! A popular scam in tuk tuk drivers is that they offer you, to you curves for 10 baht through half the city. But the truth does not make your city tour, but she went to several jewelers and tailors will, tapped from those tuk tuk driver a hefty commission.

Can package prices call it not for transportation, since it often (especially in tuk tuks) to negotiation is generally true, however. The first price quoted is too high we have to tuk tuk drivers, never more than half of the first-mentioned price paid!.

In order to travel around the country has proven to us at the train because it is relatively low (500-1000 baht 2nd class sleeper car) and you save one night and recovered more or less at the next town arrives =)

Clothing / Souvenirs and other:
Especially clothes are very very cheap and then here we have to keep a few small price lists to you before paying much too much for something. Particularly applies here act act act! The following prices are the prices we have paid or prices to be achieved.

  • Ray Ban glasses - 150 Baht
  • Bracelets in various designs - ¬ † <25 baht
  • Billabong shorts - 400 Baht
  • T-Shirts - 150 Baht
  • Flip Flops - 50 to 150 baht
  • Piercing 500 Baht

Other costs in Thailand, which arise when one wants something more:

  • Roller 24 hours - 150 to 200 baht
  • 1 liter of fuel - 35-50 baht
  • Diving Course Open Water Diver - 8500-11500 baht (depending on whether with or without accommodation)
  • Dive Course Advanced Open Water Diver - 7500-9000 Baht

Day 34 / / A √ º bler trip

Today we rented a scooter and decided to √ ° √ § ll Rest of waterfalls on the island to explore, because it had rained the previous days, yes.

After 15 kilometers of well-paved road √ Bouveret then started the pure jungle madness: D

From the paved road was then a muddy Ger llpiste √ ∂, which is at most n √ § 10 kilometers continued ... (I must say that we rented a 50cc scooter
had on it which had similar profile-less bicycle tires √ §)

No matter, because No Risk, No Fun! That is my motto;)

After the Strassenverh √ § ratios were getting worse, we decided to turn back then because further movement was possible with a little gel nurnoch Ndege √ § √ § √ ∂ m-dependent ...

Day 33 / / failure due to rain

Chill Out was announced yesterday, yes, because we were out all day and when the heat is pretty exhausting.

Especially f √ º r arms and H √ § nde. The hrdet are at something pretty sonnenbrandgef √ § and where we wanted to give a little break.

Today we wanted to actually go snorkeling, but we had to find that it's raining ...

A look at the weather forecast showed that it should be rainy all week.
(But was the equation √ º ck but not sooo bad;) has indeed been raining every now and then or was bew lkt √ ∂, but it went)

So we now bums around and once again - to have better weather tomorrow with hope.

In the evening you could then look at the Restaurant Bar Movies and chat with other people (which are needed to determine oO you that the most strange thing is probably a bit like a pothead one property before; D)
